Conceptual Design: Translating Ideas into Design
In the conceptual design phase, our team took the validated concept and began to develop it into a tangible product. This stage involved creating detailed designs that balanced functionality with user comfort and ease of use.
Preliminary Design and Ideation:
Working closely with MenHealth Solutions, we developed initial sketches and 3D models of Legam. Our focus was on ensuring that the device was not only effective in preventing urinary dribble but also comfortable and easy for users to integrate into their daily routines. We explored various forms, materials, and mechanisms, iterating on the design to address any potential issues identified during this phase.
Material Selection and Refinement:
Choosing the right materials was essential to the success of Legam. The product required materials that were safe for medical use, durable, and comfortable against the skin. We tested several options, prioritizing those that offered the best combination of flexibility, hygiene, and user comfort. The design was continuously refined based on both client feedback and user testing, allowing us to perfect the product before moving into the embodiment phase.
